HOW TO USE A FOLEY FOOD MILL

FOLEY FOOD MILL
The Foley Food Mill is the one that I use when I can tomatoes. The Foley Food Mill takes all the seeds and skins off the precooked tomatoes. The food mill makes this process much quicker and easier.
Put the precooked tomatoes in the food mill and turn the handle. You have to turn the handle backwards too because the holes will get clogged and this unclogs the holes. When you get the tomatoes all worked down, dump the skins and seeds out and fill again until you are done.
You can use the Foley Food Mill to remove the skins and seeds from most precooked vegetables and fruits. I have seen people grate cheese with the food mill also.
You can prepare many natural and healthy foods and recipes. You can even make homemade tomato juice. Make healthy baby food instead of store bought.
Yes it is a lot of cranking but if you have child labor. LOL
My granddaughter has a blast turning the handle for her mother when she is making Homemade Apple Sauce.
The Foley Food Mill Is made of stainless steel and will last forever. I have had mine for years and it still looks new.
Using the food mill has made canning my Homemade Spaghetti Sauce a lot easier and faster.

This brings back memories of my mama's kitchen, and sitting at that kitchen table helping her with her canning. Lordy! My arms used to get tired turning that food mill!
Wow this is so much easier than the way we did the tomatoes by hand last year. We hope to have lots to can this year..Will have to invest in one of those. Thank you for a great tip.

I just used my food mill for the first time to make mashed potatoes. I used the medium sized disc. The potatoes came out very gummy! If anyone has any ideas to help I'd appreciate it. This was an expensive investment for me.
